New Work
Cowboy Curtis answers a can of beans like it’s the red pill. Somewhere between Pee-wee’s Playhouse and The Matrix, he’s just trying to get a signal from the range, from the code, or maybe from God himself.
Rendered in batik, a medium built on layering and resistance, the image reflects how identity and meaning are dyed into and revealed through culture. The tin can of Ranch Style beans becomes both a telephone and a symbol of communion - a low-tech lifeline in a high-tech simulation.
Random selection of a varied edition mini batik painting mounted on a 2” x 3” wood block. Current stock includes: bananas, oranges, eggs, rainbows, fish, clouds, mushrooms, and hot dogs. Which one will you get?
